Privacy Policy - OnePedal App (Desktop and Mobile)
Effective Date: May 27, 2026
Groundhog Audio LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the OnePedal application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect:
Email address and password (password is securely hashed)
Username
Phone number (optional)
Profile picture (optional)
When you use the app, we store:
Guitar details (nickname, style, pickup types, images)
Audio output details (nickname, type, brand, model, images)
Tone configurations (effect chain settings and knob values)
Song library (song references, custom titles, artwork)
Setlists (names, song order, cover images)
2. Audio Data
The OnePedal app accesses your microphone to receive guitar audio from your audio interface for real-time effect processing. This audio is processed locally on your device and is not recorded, stored, or transmitted by us.
The app also lets you upload your own audio sample clips to play back while configuring tones. These clips are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.
The app includes a tone-matching feature that allows you to submit audio clips for analysis. Audio clips you submit to this feature are transmitted to our servers and to service providers acting on our behalf and processed to generate matching tone settings. The audio clip itself is deleted after processing — only the resulting tone settings are saved to your account, and you can delete them at any time from within the app. We do not use your submitted audio for any purpose other than providing the tone-matching service to you, and we do not allow our service providers to use your submitted audio to train their models.
3. Pedal Connection
The OnePedal app connects to the physical Groundhog Audio OnePedal hardware over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). With your permission, the app discovers and pairs with your pedal and exchanges configuration data such as presets, settings, knob values, and firmware version. The pedal itself does not collect personal information about you.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Provide and maintain the OnePedal service
Store your tones, songs, and setlists
Display community tones shared by users
Generate aggregate statistics (top and trending songs)
Respond to support requests
5. Community Features
Your username and profile picture are publicly visible to all users of the service. Images you upload — including guitar photos, output photos, song artwork, and setlist covers — may be viewable by other users when they visit your profile. When you share a tone with the community, your tone configuration also becomes publicly visible. If you delete your account, your shared community tones will remain available but your creator information will be removed.
6. Third-Party Services
We use Supabase as our backend infrastructure and secure cloud storage provider. This includes database storage and file storage (such as profile images, guitar images, and artwork). All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
We use Sentry as a third-party service to capture crash reports and error diagnostics. This helps us find and fix bugs. The following information is sent to Sentry when an error or crash occurs:
A random, anonymous installation identifier (a UUID generated on first launch; not linked to your account, name, or email)
Error messages and stack traces from the app
System information: operating system version, CPU model, amount of RAM, app version
On Windows: the names and versions of your installed audio drivers (used to diagnose audio-driver-specific crashes)
Audio-related context when a crash happens during audio playback: the audio device you selected, the driver name and version, sample rate, and buffer size
For native application crashes only: a memory snapshot of the OnePedal process ("minidump") — similar to a standard Windows or macOS crash report
We explicitly do NOT collect any of the following via Sentry: your email address, name, phone number, IP address, keystrokes, the contents of your microphone input, or the contents of files on your computer. Stack traces may contain standard operating-system paths that include your OS username.
We do not use advertising networks. We do not sell your personal information. We only share information with third-party service providers as necessary to operate and improve the service.
7. Data Storage and Security
Your account data, tones, songs, setlists, and uploaded images are stored on secure cloud servers provided by Supabase. Crash reports and diagnostic data described in Section 6 are stored on Sentry's servers. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and row-level security policies to protect your information.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only while your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or security purposes.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access your personal data through the app
Update your profile information at any time
Delete your account and all associated data from the Profile settings
Request information about the data we store about you
Request deletion of crash reports and diagnostic data associated with your installation (contact us to request this; see Section 13)
When you delete your account, all your personal data, uploaded images, songs, setlists, and private tones are permanently deleted. Community tones you shared will be preserved but disassociated from your identity.
10. Children's Privacy
OnePedal is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app and updating the effective date. Your continued use of OnePedal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
13. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to exercise your data rights, contact us at contact@groundhogaudio.com.
